British art historian Anthony Whitelands came to Madrid by chance and was commissioned by a duke to identify a batch of collections. He unexpectedly met José Antonio, the founder of the Falange, at the duke's lunch. In 1936, the political situation in Spain was in chaos. The republican system was attacked by the left and right factions, and the Falange was pushing the country into civil war. This British man didn't care about Spanish politics and just wanted to complete the identification and return to the UK. Unexpectedly, he had been involved in a political event with confusing clues and multi-party struggles. Whitelands concluded that the duke's collections were all fakes. Just as he was about to leave for the UK, the duke's daughter Paquita revealed a secret and precious authentic work that had been hidden in the duke's basement for many years.
